Springwell's 11th Grader Program
Why start planning for college in 11th grade?
It's never too late to begin preparing for college. By their Junior year, college-bound students should be thinking seriously about their short list of schools to apply to and begin concentrated entrance exam preparation in the fall. They will take their PSAT's in October and their first SAT and SAT Subject Test in the spring of their Junior year. For students who have not begun this process, it is essential for 11th graders to discuss their interests and skills in order to narrow their choices for the school that is right for them.
While 10th Grade is the most difficult academically, 11th grade is the most challenging. Eleventh graders have multiple tasks on their plate and they must think strategically regarding the college-ready timetable. They really need to know how to manage and prioritize their time. Besides preparing for entrance exams, they will need to keep up their GPAs, and do all this while their schedules are jam-packed with sports and club activities. They often feel lost, frustrated, and overwhelmed by it all and do not know where to turn for guidance.
What does Springwell do for 11th graders?
Springwell helps 11th graders by first being a reliable resource of information and guidance in the college planning and preparation process.
