1. How is Springwell different?
Springwell is focused on helping students get into the college that's right for them. Springwell creates tailored programs to help your child identify their interests, plan and prepare for college, and get the skills they need to get into and do well in college. In addition to test prep and learning Study Skills, students receive private counseling to help them make their own college plans.
Springwell is also unique in that we help parents prepare for college, too. We offer financial aid planning and preparation to help parents answer all the confusing questions about financial aid options and the many solutions you may not be aware of.
2. What is Springwell's philosophy?
Springwell's goal is to make college preparation an important part of every student's education. We believe that a college education brings the highest returns and the most consistent dividends over a lifetime.
Springwell is founded on the idea that happiness in life comes from making confident life choices. We believe that students need personal attention and guidance to make these choices. We also believe that students who attend a college that is right for them, based on their interests, skills and aspirations, will be happier and more successful in life. All of our courses, tutoring, assistance and counseling are designed specifically to help your child identify a path for his or her life, to make the right choices to follow that path, and to be a success while they travel that path.
3. How much does it cost?
Our services are customized to meet the needs of each individual student so the price depends on your child's particular needs. As every parent knows, no two students are alike! We begin with a College Readiness Assessment that gives us a snapshot of your child's college needs. This assessment includes a conference to discuss the results and a plan to get ready for college, including your tuition options.
4. Can't my child get this kind of help at their school?
Did you know that the average student-to-counselor ratio is 350:1? The means that most students don't even meet their guidance counselor to get help preparing for college. Or if they do meet, it may be only once or twice a year — not nearly often enough to help your child get the advice and direction they need to plan for college. The Springwell program, customized to your child's grade level and needs, is designed to provide the kind of one-on-one attention and assistance to get the confident answers to the questions you have about getting into the right college.
5. What is the Springwell College Readiness Assessment?
The College Readiness Assessment is a unique tool we use at Springwell to address the academic health of your child. It consists of a mini ACT and SAT test to understand where your child's academic skills are. It also includes a short review of your child's learning styles, study habits and skills. These are the important personal skills and tools your child will need to get into and be successful in college. Finally, the assessment includes an Interest and Career Profile to give some insights as to what your child might want to consider for a college major. All parents and children who have taken this Assessment have found it a very enlightening way to understand where they are today and where they need to go. Call us to schedule an appointment today.
6. How can I fit Springwell into my child's busy schedule?
Your child's Springwell schedule is as customized as his or her program. We know that college-bound students have schedules busy with extra-curricular activities. We also know that because the pressures to get into college are high, good grades and strong study skills are a priority. All of our coaching is one-on-one and is scheduled at mutually agreeable times. We work with each family to find the best schedule for you.
7. What are parents and students saying about Springwell?
"We really appreciate the SAT program you have put together! Springwell gave our son the opportunity to zero in on exactly the areas he needed to master. He didn't waste time going over subject matter that he already understood. We feel he would not have been able to improve his SAT scores by 220 points without Springwell. He entered your program having already taken one SAT prep class with another company. His first score was an 880. A few weeks into Springwell, Chris took his second SAT and got a 980. After completing the Springwell SAT course he got an 1100 [out of 1600]. A 220-point increase from the first test!
Thanks for all your help!"
- Carol, Mother of 12th-grader
"My son has been a Springwell student for six weeks. In this short timeframe, I have observed dramatic improvement in his attitude to his school, work and, for the first time, a commitment to academic achievement. He is now focused and serious about his future and he understands math concepts for the first time. He attributes all this to his Springwell experience. He is enjoying the individual counseling attention he has received."
- Kimberly, Mother of 12th grader
"Over the past six months, our two college-bound children, my wife, and I have had the opportunity to work with the staff at Springwell. We have consistently found them to be caring, responsive, knowledgeable professionals, willing to provide the necessary assistance to further our children's education, helping to make them more attractive to the colleges that are just right for them. We highly recommend Springwell's college prep services and have referred others to them."
- Martin, Father of 11th and 12th-graders
